Reef Check training course need to know:

Embark on the Reef Check Kelp Forest Monitoring Training to master the intricacies of the survey protocol. This comprehensive course covers not only direct survey methods but also delves into the realms of safe diving practices, research diving techniques, sampling design and theory, and broader marine ecology, including species identification and interactions. Highlighting the pivotal role of monitoring in meeting marine management needs, the training adopts a dynamic format—combining online, in-person, and field sessions—to ensure a well-rounded learning experience.

Prerequisites:

  • Min of 15 logged dives in cold water(hoods and gloves)
  • Min of 6 dives within the last year
  • Min of 30 logged dives
  • You need to be 16 or older to ride this ride!
  • Rescue diver cert from any agency

Upon successful completion of the training, participants gain the proficiency needed to ace the examination and qualify for a coveted Reef Check Kelp Forest Monitoring Specialty Certification (NAUI).
