Divers meet in Monterey for this program. After a review, DPV orientation divers hit the water. Some surface cruising teqniques are covered before descending and practicing. Divers can choose to complete the Padi academic requirement by the manual or eLearning. The class is usually taght at McAbee (near the Breakwater) but is weather dependant.

Divers need to bring their own dive equipment which can be rented at Scuba Fusion. A professional level diving scooter is provided at no cost to the students taking this course. This is an official Padi certification program. A certain degree of comfort diving in cold water is required.

3mm Rental full length suits are often used in warm waters like Hawaii, Belize and Mexico. They are not suitable for cold water diving like Monterey. They are worn over a swimsuit, feature a back zip and stretchable neoprene. This item pairs perfectly with our 3mm vests for added warmth.
