The PADI DPV (Diver Propulsion Vehicle) Specialty, teaches you how to ride a modern tech DPV through the kelp forests with speed. Instead of burning gas and leg power on long surface swims, you’ll learn how to cruise efficiently, move faster underwater.

The Course

After a DPV orientation at Monterey you’ll complete two instructor-guided DPV dives and practice descending ,ascending, turning, handling common problem scenarios and more.

  • DPV Included (bring your own if you have one)

  • Choice of academic option (book or eLearning)

  • 2 dives at Monterey – academic review on-site

  • Prereqs: 4 dives in coldwater such as Monterey

Use of Modern Tech Style DPV’s are Included

We include a professional grade DX BT Tech scooter for each student during this course. DPVs are specialized equipment, care and setup matters. If you have your own, bring it. If you don’t, borrow one of ours. Either way, you’ll understand basic care, handling, and smart pre-dive checks.
