AWARE Shark Conservation Specialty

When:
Saturday will begin in Monterey with briefings and dives from the beaches of Monterey. Some experience shore diving cold water is recommended to participate. You must be certified to take this course.

Where:
The shark search and observe beach dives will be conducted in the Monterey and possibly Carmel area.  Directions to the secret meeting sites will be handed out once liability and paperwork is signed at Scuba Fusion in San Mateo.

Academics:
Students complete the AWARE Shark Conservation Specialty course which consists of some reading and Knowledge Reviews.  The PDF is free of charge and can be found at on the Scuba Fusion website.  Complete the Knowledge Review and have it ready for the first dive.

Cost:
Price: $349
Price includes the new PADI AWARE Shark Conservation digital certification card and instruction.  Academics included free of charge.  Diving gear is not included in the price.

Needed:
In addition to the standard gear you will need a dive knife/tool, a compass and a dive computer (or timing device and eRDPml/RDP Table). Dive lights are are highly recommended. Scuba Fusion rents all of the diving gear needed except personal gear which is a mask, snorkel, boots, fins and gloves. However, it is strongly recommended that divers have their own diving gear at this point.

Age:
12 and up with certifications

Also, these dives are a great opportunity to break in new gear.  You will dive in varying conditions to see what works and what does not.  A Scuba Fusion instructor/divemaster will be with you every step of the way to guide you with new equipment.
