Diving Specialty Classes at Scuba Fusion Dive Center

Welcome to the world of exploring new diving techniques!
We at Scuba Fusion Dive Center look forward to helping you explore our underwater world with new techniques and technologies. Whether it's learning how to use a drysuit, exploring nature, or learning new technologies, Scuba Fusion Dive Center has the tools and the instructors to help you gain experience in that specialty.

Drysuit Diver
This specialty trains the diver on how to safely use a drysuit for diving in colder waters such as Monterey. This course is required to rent a drysuit.

Format: One weeknight classroom, one weeknight pool session, two ocean dives the following weekend.
Course Material: PADI Drysuit Crewpack

Underwater Naturalist
This specialty trains the diver how to recognize different types of fishes, invertebrates, and plants in Monterey Bay. Also reviewed is the impact humans have (both positive and negative) on the marine environment.

Format: One weeknight classroom, two ocean dives the following weekend.
Course Material: Creature ID Slate

Underwater Photographer
This specialty trains the diver how to more effectively use a camera while underwater. Composition, lighting, and framing techniques are discussed.

Format: One weeknight classroom, two ocean dives the following weekend.
Course Material: PADI Underwater Photographer Crewpack.

Night Diver
This specialty trains the diver on how to safely conduct a night dive. Proper lighting and communication techniques are discussed, as well as basic navigation.

Format: One weeknight classroom, three ocean dives to be determined by the class.
Course Material: PADI Night Diver Crewpack.

Multi-Level Diver
This specialty trains the diver how to conduct a multi-level dive safely, resulting in a dramatic increase in bottom time. For example, if a diver using the Recreational Dive Planner (Table) goes to 100', the dive is limited to 20 minutes, regardless of how long the diver stayed at 100'. Using the PADI Recreational Dive Planner (Wheel), a diver can descend to 100' for 10 minutes, and safely spend another 155 minutes at 35' (assuming air/exposure protection)!

Format: One weeknight classroom, two ocean dives the following weekend.

Equipment Specialist
Whether it's a regulator problem, a wet suit tear or a broken mask strap, the Equipment Specialist course can help. This Specialty course prepares a diver for the basic equipment maintenance, care and adjustments a diver encounters every day. In addition, the diver will get the valuable background on equipment repair and purchase, making him/herbetter able to protect their investment.

Format: One weeknight classroom
Course Material: Scuba Care and Maintenance Manual

Boat Diver
This specialty trains the diver how to safely enter/exit a docked boat, how to enter/exit the water safely, the various components of a boat, and how to properly stow gear.

Format: One weeknight classroom, two ocean dives (via boat) the following weekend.
Course Material: None.

This specialty, unique to Scuba Fusion Dive Center, provides for a complete underwater wedding. See the Center for more details!

Format: One ocean dive.
Course Material: None.
