PADI Divemaster Class

Sua Sponte(of their own accord) and Welcome to Divemaster Training! As a PADI Divemaster, you will learn to act as a professional dive guide leading divers to new and exciting dive destinations and act as an instructional assistant to a PADI Instructor.

In other words, you can live in exotic locations and be paid to dive!

Training Fees The PADI Divemaster total training fee is $499.

Prerequisites In order to become a PADI Divemaster you must first already be a PADI Advanced Diver (or equivalent) and a PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent). You must be 18 years old and be certified in CPR and First Aid. You must also have logged at least 20 dives to begin the program.

Class Schedule The PADI Divemaster class has three phases of training: Watermanship, Academics, and Internship. Since program schedules differ from instructor to instructor, your training schedule will also vary. Your PADI Instructor will outline your training schedule in detail.

What You Will Need To Buy You will need the PADI Divemaster Manual, Diving Knowledge Workbook, and The Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving. Your Instructor will inform you of any other books and other materials you may need. You will need your own personal snorkeling gear (which includes masks, snorkel, fins, boots, gloves, PADI dive table or wheel, whistle, and a timing device).

What You May Rent You may rent the rest of your scuba diving equipment from our rental department.

A Sample Training Outline May Look Something Like This:

MODULE ONE: Watermanship and Skill Assessment

1. Watermanship and Stamina
Exercise 1: 400 yard swim
Exercise 2: 15 minute tread
Exercise 3: 800 yard snorkel swim
Exercise 4: 100 yard inert diver tow

2. Diver Rescue Skills Assessment
Exercise: Simulated Rescue of an Unconscious Diver

3. General Diving Skills
Exercise: The Skill Evaluation Circuit (20 skills)

MODULE TWO: Knowledge Development (Academics)

1. The PADI Divemaster Academics:
