you get trained as a DAN Diving Emergency Management Provider!
This course will give you the skills necessary to handle
almost any situation that you're likely to encounter as
a diver, including advanced use of an AED, how to provide
oxygen as a medicine, how to provide oxygen using advanced
tools, and how to respond to an injury sustained while in
the water. If

What
is the Divering Emergency Management Provider (DEMP) program?
Often, when a diver is injured, there are several things
happening: a diver could be stung by a jellyfish and have
an allergic reaction; a diver may panic underwater, experience
an air embolism and have a heart attack; or a diver may
suffer a puncture wound from wreck debris. The DAN Diving
Emergency Management Provider (DEMP) program is designed
to prepare divers to handle most complicated dive-related
emergencies that arise, prior to handling the injured diver
over to professional care. This program incorporates the
key skills from four programs:
Training
Fees
The DEMP course total training fee for a group class is
$125.00. The fees are broken down in order to provide many
training options to our customers. The fees are broken down
as follows:
$ 35.00
- Store Registration Fee (nonrefundable, nontransferable)
$ 90.00 - Instructors Fee/Certification Fee (cash/check
only)
When
you sign up for the class, the Store Registration Fee will
be collected. The Instructor will collect the Instructor
Fee/Certification Fee (cash/check only) during the first
night of class. Class size is limited, so early registration
is recommended!
Class
Schedule
The DEMP Course is a one day course (usually taught on a
Saturday). This class is designed for both divers and non-divers,
so bring a friend!
What
you will need to buy
Prior to the first class you will need Diving Emergency
Management Provider manual. In addition, a pocket mask is
required.
