Giant kelp (Macrocystis pyrifera) is a type of brown algae that can grow at depths of greater than 100 feet (30 meters). Anchored to the rocky ocean bottom with structures called holdfasts, kelp grows toward the sunlit surface of the water, held upright by gas-filled bladders at the base of the leaf-like blades.

Class Pricing: Pricing is broken into three parts: Training Fees, Rental Equipment, and the Advanced Student Kit.
Sign Up for a Class: There are three ways to sign up and pay for a class at Scuba Fusion:
Equipment every diver needs to have before class starts.
Before attenting a dive class students need to provide their own basic snorkeling package. This includes a mask, snorkel, boots, gloves and fins. These items cannot be rented or "lent out". Comfort and fit is key when selecting your personal gear. Please come into the store at least a week in advance to consult with us about the gear you will need. You cannot begin a diving class at Scuba Fusion without these items.
Please avoid purchasing low end snorkeling kits found at stores like "Cost Mart" and ""Dollar Snorkel" to save a few dollars. These kits usually come with plastic lens masks and fins not large enough to propel a diver and his or her gear. Avoid the re-buy!
Masks. Lens needs to be made of tempered glass.
Snorkel. No longer than 17" long.
Boots, 5mm -7mm neoprene boots for Monterey. If you are planning on diving in the tropics then 3mm or a water shoe is fine.
Gloves. 3mm -5mm for Monterey or for the tropics - 3mm.
Fins. Blade size appropriate to the diver's size, durable, industrial sized fins are necessary to propel a diver and their gear. Body Glove and Dolphine snorkeling sets will just not do.
